• A superb large Ahsworth Bros Ironstone china
• B9178 pattern sometimes called Chaffinch, with wild rose full colour borders and pink breasted bird
• 18.5-inch wide rimmed small oval serving platter 15-inch wide with rims rising to 1.75-inch
• c1861 - 1890 manufacturing date range.
• Hand coloured transfer decoration 
• This platter is in collectors cabinet condition with good glaze and rims
  
• Ashworth brothers were subsequently to produce Mason's Ironstone china.
• This early piece has Ashworth printed crown and banner marks hand applied B9178 decorators marks
• A lovely piece of rare ironstone for collectors
