Collection: Royal Doulton China Norfolk pattern

Norfolk blue and white china by Royal Doulton has been produced over a long period of time and is seen in the traditional hexagonal shape and rounded modern pieces.

Royal Doulton Norfolk was first produced in 1923 with RD Numbers 251612 - 597783  These early pre-war pieces were all octagonal molded shapes and mainly date impress stamped

The Majority of Royal Doulton Norfolk was made later between 1942 and 1984 with the D6294 pattern reference and in a rounded shape with irregular scalloped rims designs. The overall design and blockwork changed little and later and early pieces mix well despite the shape differences

A unique characteristic of the Norfolk design is the drawn or combed outer rim design used throughout the long period of manufacture.

Royal Doulton Norfolk is very prone to period glaze crazing, fine crackling of the surface glaze or glass layer coating the underlying design print.
