Beautiful, Vintage teapot with lavender flowers with yellow centres and pale green leaves against a white background. There is gilding between the flowers which almost give the impression that the flowers are climbing a wall. The teapot has further gilding on the handle, spout and lid handle making it really stand out.
Using the Gibson identifying mark underneath the teapot, it indicates that is dates late 1970s however, the style, design and design number (W794) are very much more classic Gibson 1950s teapots.
There is some crazing on the lid which add to the appeal and vintage look. Unfortunately there is crazing on the base of the teapot, both inside and out that has become stained. We have tested it and it holds the water (and tea!) with no leaking so it is fully functional and with the location of the stained crazing, it's not seen if the teapot is on a shelf in the kitchen or on a display unit. The price reflects the issue.
