• A superb antique combination set comprising Ahsworth Bros and Mason's B9178 Ironstone china 
• B9178 pattern sometimes called Chaffinch, with wild rose full colour borders and pink breasted bird
• 8.25-inch long and 5.55-inch wide rectangular angled serving sauce tureen 6.5-inch tall including the handled lid Mason's stamp on tureen base
• Recessed ladle slot in the lid
• 7.5-inch original ladle
• 8.5-inch long saucer plate with pierced leaf handles 6.25-inch wide Ashworth Bros stamp on tsaucer base
• c1861 - 1890 manufacturing date range.
• Hand coloured transfer decoration 
• This incredibly rare sauce tureen is in very good antique condition 
  
• Ashworth brothers would subsequently produce Mason's Ironstone china.
• This transitional set has Ashworth printed crown and banner marks  and Masons patent irostone factory marks as shown
