Antique Ashworth Bros 12-inch lidded serving tureen.

• A superb large Ahsworth Bros Ironstone china tureen
• B9178 pattern sometimes called Chaffinch, with wild rose full colour borders and pink breasted bird
• 12-inch long and 9.5-inch wide rectangular angled serving tureen 6.5-inch tall including the handled lid
• c1861 - 1890 manufacturing date range.
• Hand coloured transfer decoration 
• This tureen is in very good antique condition but has some linear glaze crazing and minor staining in the tureen base as shown
  
• Ashworth brothers were subsequently to produce Mason's Ironstone china.
• This early piece has Ashworth printed crown and banner marks 
• A lovely piece of rare ironstone for collectors
• Part of a large dinner service being listed.
