Classic antique ironstone Ashworth 10-inch serving platter.

• Early and rare Ahsworth Bros Ironstone china
• B9178 pattern sometimes called Chaffinch, with wild rose full colour borders and pink breasted bird
• 10-1/8th-inch wide rimmed small oval serving platter 8.5-inch wide with rims rising to 0-7/8th-inch
• c1861 - 1890 manufacturing date range.
• Hand coloured transfer decoration 
• Condition note glaze crazing with fine linear staining
  
• Ashworth brothers were subsequently to produce Mason's Ironstone china.
• This early piece has Ashworth printed crown and banner marks hand applied B9178 decorators marks
• A lovely piece of rare ironstone for collectors
• Part of a large graduated platter and dinner service being listed.
