Booths real old willow was manufactured over a long period of production which spanned both World Wars. Most was characterised by the rich and thick rim detailing in gold. These pieces were manufactured after 1944 with gilt rim detailing. The teacup base plate diameter is 1.75-inch and the saucer well diameter is 2-inches which is characteristic of Booths sets (the cups never fit the saucer well snuggly) and goes someway to explaining why intact sets are so rare. Most teacups have flat top handles with no spurs, these are rare peaked arch handle versions and the smaller of the side plate options from the period.
