Rare and exquisite Adams Blue English wide rimmed soup dish Manufactured by William Adams Tunstall

  • 10-3/8th-inch diameter wide rimmed Englsih soup bowl
  • Fern design with W Adams back stamp mark and impressed w Adams Tunstall with gilders marks 967 in hand script.
  • This is a rare example of early Ironstone which came to be known as "Adams Blue" due to it's almost violet colour in certain lights.
  • William Adams was reputed to be Josiah Wedgwood's favourire pupil. He operated the Greengate Works in Tunstall between 1789 and 1805
  • Collectors cabinet condition.
