• Messina pattern is often incorrectly listed as Cauldon Messina or Royal Cauldon due to its unique Chinese style stamp mark. Most pieces were being produced during the 1840s and 1850s and the producing pottery in Cauldon Place hanley was managed by BWM & Co which would later become Cauldon Ltd
• 10-inch diameter wide rimmed ironstone soup plate
  
• Blue and white china in Messina transfer floral design in grey blue floral garlands with indent and molded rim detailing
• Manufactured by Brown Westhead Moore & Co Cauldon Place factory Staffordshire and date marked 4th December 1848
  
• Good antique condition with fine glaze crazing and a small amount of staining as shown
  
• Chinoise Messina stamp and Rd diamond mark
