Adams (William Adams) Calyx Wear hand painted early Georgian Tulip pattern platter

• A beautiful duck egg flow blue colour glaze, with hand painted cobalt blue and red floral decoration in Adams Georgian Tulip pattern
• Single thick cobalt blue inner rim line, no outer border or rim detailing 
• 14-inch by 11-inch rectangular platter with angled rim
• English Ironstone from Adams Calyx ware range
• Calyx ware was first introduced in the 1930s in all hand painted designs. Production continued up until the 1960s, with later pieces being transfer printed, this is an early piece with all hand painted decoration. It also lacks the outer rim edge decoration which was a later introduction to the pattern.
