High fashion in the 1860's were these Japanese style designs, both shapes and patterns were in great demand and in short supply due to the macro economic global conditions. In response, English china manufacturers drew on their expertise to produce Japanese style porcelain ware to fill the demand.

Drawing on Antique pattern books from John Ridgway and others T. C. Brown-Westhead, Moore, & Co.capitalised with the Cauldon ware brand producing this exquisite K4120 version colour design based on Chusan

Made from tanslucent super fine antique porcelain with a superbly detailed transfer pattern and hand coloured detailing, the condition of these pieces belies their age and offer a rare opportunity for collectors to add these teawares to their collection of 19th Century fine English porcelain.
