This magnificent large meat platter was made by William Adams in the first half of the 20th Century and is one of the best examples of Staffordshire transfer ware from this period.
The rich cobalt blue transfer design is wonderfully detailed and the central pastoral scene is further enhanced by a thick floral rim design.
English Countryside is the rarer of the patterns produced during the period, most is from the English scenery series of designs, so this platter has the added bonus of rarity and well as beauty.
